Recently a Sennheiser representative contacted me about their new headsets. It just so happens that I had been thinking of replacing my Jabra GN9330 as its range was lacking and the call quality had not been the best lately, probably due to wear and tear from using it for the past 3 years. After talking with the Sennheiser rep., I decided on trying out the DW Pro 2. Headsets.com sent me over two, one for me and one for one of my coworkers who works in the call center for our company. I am the only IT guy for my company and I take dozens of calls every day and on top of that, am on long conference calls. I often also have to be mobile and go to user’s desks to work on their computers and install software while working with other techs on the phone. I was intrigued by the prospect of the DW Pro 2 to be able to hear the caller, have them hear me well and at the same time have a sometimes noisy environment be taken out of the equation.
Construction\Features\Use

When I first opened the box, I was struck by the sturdiness of the base station. I also like how the headset connects magnetically to the base station. The DW Pro 2 comes with an easy to follow guide that walked me through how to setup the headset. It showed how I could easily change the volume on the headset via the rocker switch on the right hand side. Being able to tell what volume would be correct is made easier because when you move the rocker switch forwards or backwards a tone is heard, so you can precisely set it.

You can set the mic volume here.
Also on the back of the base station, you can set your volume so the people receiving your calls can hear you. The base can also connect to your pc for music or VOIP services such as Google Voice or Skype.

The headset itself is light weight and comfortable, having pads on each ear to help isolate you from your outside surrounds and at the same time help you hear the calls very well. The long adjustable ultra noise-canceling microphone filtered out most unwanted background noise and made my calls clearer. In use the headset picked up my voice perfectly while all of the ambient sound around me was muffled so the person on the other end could hear me perfectly. I tested the microphone from my loud server room, and I was easily able to carry on a conversation with a coworker at another site. I also walked over to the busy call center area, and the caller could not hear the multiple conversations going on, all ambient voices and sound was again muffled. The headset also employs something called ActiveGuard technology so my hearing will be protected. The headset is said to allow up to 570 feet from the base. I went outside to my car in the parking lot and the call sounded great, the call was not dropped. I also appreciated that the DW Pro 2 has 12 hours of talk time and can be fully charged in one hour. I used the ORL12 handset lifter for my Mitel 5320, and it worked flawlessly. As a bonus, this headset has a ring notification to let me know about incoming calls, something that my old headset was missing.

Cons
The only negatives I have when using this headset is that I wish that the little nubble button used to make and receive calls could be more pronounced or larger. I also would have liked the base to be raised higher so I could more easily put the headset on the magnet without having to really think about it.
Conclusion
This headset is really amazing. The call quality, comfort, mobility, noise cancelling, and features makes this a great headset for my job. I used it all over at work, moving freely to different offices while working on various problems. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a very capable headset.
